The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has launched a national search for its next College of Arts and Sciences dean. Faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the search and to share ideas in an open forum at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium.
The 16-member search committee includes faculty, staff, students and college stakeholders with a wide range of expertise to represent the mission, interests and priorities of the college. The group is chaired by Richard Moberly, dean and Schmoker Professor of Law. He will be assisted by Paul Chou, a consultant with the executive search firm, Korn Ferry.
Committee members include Dan Claes, chair and professor, physics and astronomy; Tracy Frank, chair and professor, earth and atmospheric sciences; Joy Castro, Willa Cather Professor, English and ethnic studies; David Hansen, professor, psychology; Jeannette Jones, associate professor, history and ethnic studies; Emily Kazyak, associate professor, sociology, and women’s and gender studies; Rebecca Lai, Rosowski Associate Professor, chemistry; Debbie Minter, associate professor, English; Kristi Montooth, associate professor, biological sciences; Matt Loar, assistant professor, classics and religious studies; Aaron Duncan, associate professor of practice, communication studies; Drashti Bhatt, director, information technology, data analytics and application development for the college; Doug Pellatz, adviser, mathematics; James Linderholm, college external advisory board; Awa Youm, undergraduate student, biological sciences; and Mitch Hamidi, graduate student, mathematics.
