The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln will host two upcoming showcase events for adults ages 50 and older — an Omaha Showcase from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. July 28 at the Scott Conference Center, 6450 Pine St., Omaha, and a Lincoln Open House from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Nebraska East Union.

Both events are free and open to the public, and registration is required. Attendees may learn more about OLLI membership, courses, interest groups, events and travel opportunities, and pick up a fall term catalog. The Omaha Showcase will also feature sample classes at 1 and 2 p.m.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to share these opportunities with colleagues, family members, friends and community members who may be interested in continuing their education in a relaxed, engaging environment.

For more than 30 years, OLLI at UNL has offered noncredit courses and enrichment opportunities for adults ages 50 and older, with no tests, grades or homework. Courses are available in person, live via Zoom and through recorded online sessions.

OLLI offers year-round programming across five six-week terms: two in the fall, one in the winter, one in the spring and one in the summer. Courses typically meet once a week and range from single-session classes to six-week courses. Annual membership is $75, with course fees ranging from $10 for a one-time class to $35 for a six-week course.

Travel opportunities, arranged through OLLI’s travel vendor Star Destinations, include educational trips locally, domestically and internationally. Upcoming trips include a Portugal (Douro) River Cruise in March 2027, a Northern European Cruise in June 2027, and Buffalo and Niagara Falls in September 2027.

OLLI at UNL is part of a national network of 123 lifelong learning institutes connected through the Bernard Osher Foundation and supported by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Education and Human Sciences. With more than 1,700 members across Nebraska and 30 states, OLLI at UNL fosters a thriving learning community where curiosity never retires.
