October is Depression Education and Awareness Month

October is recognized as Depression Education and Awareness Month for the purpose of increasing understanding and ending stigma around depression and other mental health issues.

Oct. 10 is designated as World Mental Health Day by the World Health Organization. Depression is a common and treatable condition — you do not have to cope alone.

The campus community is encouraged to participate in a depression screening and learn about the symptoms and effects of depression. Free depression and other mental health questionnaires are available here

The Employee Assistance Program is a campus resource for staff and faculty to foster a supportive and caring workplace culture. Our promise is to empower individuals toward sustainable and satisfying wellness practices and to make mental health the highest of priorities.
