Jamie R. Bauman, 39, of Martell, a research technologist at the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center, died Feb. 5.
Bauman was born Dec. 2, 1980 in Lincoln to James and Cynthia (Bentzinger) Bauman. She graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science in animal science, and was a member of the meats and MEAC judging teams, Block and Bridle and the Rodeo Association.
Bauman worked for more than 10 years with the Veterinary Diagnostic Center and served as adviser to the UNL Rodeo Association.
Dedicated to making the community better, Bauman held many volunteer positions, including on the executive board of the Lancaster County Agricultural Society. She became secretary. on the ag society board three years ago
Bauman is survived by her parents, a brother, sister and their children.
A rosary will be 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd. Burial mass will be 10 a.m. Feb. 11, also at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ. A celebration of life will be noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Lincoln Room at the Lancaster Event Center, 4100 N. 84th St.
No visitation is planned. Condolences can be submitted via the Roper and Sons website.
