The Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community annually honors a faculty or staff member and a student who creates an inclusive, respectful and safe climate for members of the LGBTQA+ community at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Nomination packets for this year’s award are due March 22.

Nominees should demonstrate a sustained and tangible impact in the campus community through advocacy, promoting professional advancement and support of services, a commitment to increasing awareness, and designing activities and programs that convey an active commitment to diversity and inclusion and mutual respect for, and among, LGBTQA+ students, faculty and staff.

Students also can apply for the Crompton/Diaz-Perdomo Scholarship, a $1,500 award for a student who inspires change in their work toward a more inclusive, welcoming and socially just environment for the LGBTQA+ community.

Recipients will be honored at the Lavender Graduation and Chancellor’s Award Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. April 18 at the Wick Alumni Center.
