Nebraska Extension will host its third annual Nebraska Grower and Brewer Conference and Trade Show Jan. 13 and 14 at Embassy Suites, 1040 P Street.
The two-day event will feature a variety of sessions for hop growers, craft brewers and those interested in directly supporting the industries. Several prominent speakers from around the country will discuss topics such as market outlook, horticultural practices of growing hops, brewery safety, pest and disease control, taproom management, harvest and post-harvest practices, nutrient management, technical brewing and marketing.
Author, TEDx speaker and marketing professional Ginger Johnson will present the conference’s keynote address.
“It’s a fact: beer is global. To bring Nebraska hop growers and brewers together provides synergies and opportunities to grow together,” said Johnson.
A reception showcasing beer from several breweries across the state will take place the evening of Jan. 13 and is open to all conference attendees.
The event is sponsored by Nebraska’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Nebraska Hop Growers Association, the Nebraska Craft Brewers Guild and Midwest Hop Producers, LLC.
