UNL Sustain, a recognized student organization, is taking part in the Global Climate Strike on Sept. 20.
A call for emergency action to tackle the climate crisis, Global Climate Strike will feature people of all ages from around the world. UNL Sustain is offering the event on campus as Nebraska is uniquely positioned to use agricultural systems, grasslands, and wind and solar potential as part of a climate solution. The students are advocating for conversation and change at the state level.
The event will include a 3 p.m. march from the Nebraska Union Plaza greenspace to the Nebraska State Capitol, 1445 K St. Participants are encouraged to begin lining up at 2:30 p.m. The march will conclude with a rally at the capitol.
Once at the capitol, participants will stand together to demand state-level climate action.
Sustain UNL advocates for creating a sustainable world through activism, education, and service engagement. Learn more about the campus event.
