The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is celebrating International Education Week with a series of events through Nov. 18.
The annual event focuses on sharing information with students about study abroad opportunities, as well as provide students on campus the opportunity to experience new cultures. It is also a way to promote and highlight the university’s international diversity, global engagement efforts, and opportunities that Nebraska students have to study abroad.
This is the 17th year Nebraska has held an official celebration as part of International Education Week, which is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to showcase the efforts of programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States.
One of the most popular campus events is the International Food Bazaar, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 15. The bazaar features ethnic foods from around the world available for sale in the Nebraska Union. The event is open to the public.
Additional events that are by invitation only include the launch of the International Partners Program on Nov. 17 and the International Scholar Reception on Nov. 18.
