The Midwest Roadside Safety Facility is hosting a research showcase open house, including a full-scale crash test, from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9.
The event will begin with a reception in Room 136 of the Prem S. Paul Research Center at Whittier School. Attendees can learn about ongoing research at the facility, discuss employment opportunities and talk with faculty and staff. Current and prospective students especially are encouraged to learn more about ways to gain valuable skills and knowledge in the field.
Shortly after 1 p.m., researchers and guests will travel to the Outdoor Proving Grounds – 4630 N.W. 36th St., on the western edge of Lincoln Municipal Airport — to view a live, full-scale crash test. Transportation to the test site and back to Whittier will be available. All crash test attendees are requested to wear closed-toed shoes to the test site for safety.
Anyone interested in attending the open house and/or crash test is encouraged to register here.
