Microbiology Research Symposium is Dec. 6

Microbiology Achievement through Research and Valuable Experiential Learning — or MARVEL — will host the Fourth annual Microbiology Research Symposium: Explore the Frontiers of Microbiology from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Nebraska Union's Swanson Auditorium and Centennial Room. The event will feature relevant keynote speakers and give undergraduate microbiology students an opportunity to practice science communication.

The symposium will feature more than 35 posters from students.

Keynotes will be delivered between 3 and 4 p.m. in the Swanson Auditorium. Keynotes will be delivered by: 

  • Romy Chakraborty, staff scientist, department head, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
  • Elizabeth VanWormer, One Health coordinator, associate professor, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Keynotes will be followed by a research poster session in the Centennial Room featuring more than 35 posters from students.
