The University Libraries are celebrating the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s 150th anniversary with “History and Future of the Libraries,” a series of brief, open to the public, talks.
The series opens with a 4 p.m. Jan. 24 presentation by Kathy Johnson, professor in the University Libraries, in Love Library South, Room 221. Johnson will discuss the library collections of Charles N. Dietz, H. Winnett Orr (Anne of Brittany) and Fred M. Fling (French Revolution).
Each talk in the series — information on other topics will be announced — will last about 20 minutes and feature details about what inspired the collectors, the scope of each collection, and how the works came to the university. A question and answer session will follow the talks. A selection of volumes will be on display.
Other lecture dates and topics will be announced.
