Lincoln Electric System will begin burying power transmission lines on City Campus on Dec. 8.

The project will follow the existing route of overhead power lines, running west to east on the north side of City Campus, from near Salt Creek Roadway and Avery Avenue (near the Utility Plant) to Antelope Valley Parkway (along X Street). No major disruptions to roads, sidewalks or access to parking or recreation facilities are expected.

Work will occur in phases, and equipment and vehicles will move regularly through the corridor. Signage and barriers will be in place to protect pedestrians. The project is scheduled for completion in August.
