The Kawasaki Reading Room will host a sake lecture from 2 to 3 p.m. Nov. 19.
The Kawasaki Reading Room is in Room 301 of the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center.
The lecture, "From Sake to Whiskey," will be led by Ikuho Amano. Participants will learn how whiskey transitioned from sake, or rice wine, in Japan. Amano is the vice chair of Modern Languages and Literatures, a professor of Japanese and a Japanese program adviser.
The lecture will be followed by a tasting of Amazake, a sweet, non-alcoholic drink made from fermented rice.
