Jackson retirement reception is Dec. 4

.

Christine Jackson

A retirement reception for Christine Jackson, vice chancellor of business and finance, is 3:30 to 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Nebraska Champions Club, 707 Stadium Drive.

Jackson is retiring in December after 17 years of university service. Hired in 2000 by then-Chancellor James Moeser, Jackson has overseen more than $1.3 billion in campus and university-related construction projects during her tenure. She also helped guide the university through more than a dozen rounds of cuts to its budget, the first occurring in 2002 and to date having totaled more than $56 million.

The retirement reception is free and open to the campus community. Light refreshments will be served. A short presentation will be held at 4 p.m.

In lieu of gifts, Jackson has requested that the campus community provide favorite recipes that she can make in retirement. Submit recipes via email to unlspecialevents@unl.edu or bring them to the reception.
