The $28.5 million renovation of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s East Union will create student-focused spaces, improved dining options, a Starbucks, expansion of the Great Plains Room, and modern study spaces when complete by 2020.
The Nebraska Unions will kick off the project with an information presentation and question and answer session, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the East Union Arbor Suite. Information will include the history of the project, design overview and timeline for services.
“We believe this transformative project will benefit students and the East Campus community for years to come,” said Ryan Lahne, interim director of the Nebraska Unions. “The kickoff meeting will celebrate the future of the Nebraska East Union as well as provide answers to questions about the impact of construction over the next two years.”
Ongoing updates and closure information related to the project will be available online.
