The University of Nebraska State Museum’s June Sunday with a Scientist program for children and families will explore “Incredible Insects.” The event is June 11 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Morrill Hall, south of 14th and Vine streets.

University of Nebraska State Museum scientists and University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Entomology professors and students will help visitors learn more about incredible six-legged invertebrates.

Children and families will learn how to identify an insect and participate in activities to better understand insect diversity around the world. Children can “build” an insect and take a closer look at an observation beehive and bumblebee domiciles to learn more about wild and managed bees.

Sunday with a Scientist is a series of presentations that highlight the work of scientists, while educating children and families on a variety of topics related to science and natural history. Presenters share scientific information in a fun, informal way through demonstrations, activities or by conducting science on site. Sunday with a Scientist is on the third Sunday of each month.
