IGNITE will host Melanie Coombs, an award-winning producer of animation, documentary and dramatic film and television, from 12:30-1:50 p.m. April 28 at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts, room 101.
The colloquium is open to all alumni, faculty, staff, undergraduate, graduate and prospective students, and also the general public.
Her awards include the Academy Award for “Harvie Krumpet,” the Asia Pacific Screen Award for “Mary and Max,” and the AFI Award for “Break and Enter.” “The Death and Life of Otto Bloom” was the opening night film of the Melbourne International Film Festival, July 2016.
Coombs was production supervisor and co-producer on the Academy Award winning Stopmotion animated feature film “Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio” and is currently working for ShadowMachine PDX as producer on “In the Know” featuring Zach Woods, Brandon Gardner and Mike Judge for Peacock/NBCU.
Coombs is an ambassador for Screenrights, a member of the Screen Producers Association of Australia, the Australian Academy Cinema and Television Arts and a member of the Animation Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences®, Women in Film, Women in Animation and ASIFA.
