Hundreds of Huskers came together May 11 to bid a personal farewell to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s top leadership duo.
Holding court amongst the blooming arbors of Maxwell Arboretum, Chancellor Ronnie Green and his wife, “Husker” Jane, shook hands, chatted and hugged their way through a receiving line of faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends and stakeholders. Holding strong for nearly two and a half hours, the line diminished only in the wake of an early evening rain. The celebration marked Chancellor Green’s June 30 retirement.
In a tweet following the event, Chancellor Green expressed the couple’s appreciation for the entire campus community.
“What an unforgettable day for Jane and me to share and reflect with so many of our Husker family,” Chancellor Green said. “We are forever grateful for the work advancing Nebraska that brought us together and for each and every one of you.”
