University of Nebraska–Lincoln faculty and staff can celebrate homecoming with a week of events ranging from office decorating and a movement challenge to a blood drive, parade, Cornstock Festival and Nebraska football.
This year’s “Cosmic Cornhuskers” homecoming runs Sept. 27 to Oct. 3.
Faculty and staff can show their Husker spirit through the Husker Spirit Office Decorating Contest. Offices will be judged Sept. 29, and registration is due Sept. 23.
Employees also can join colleagues in the Homecoming Faculty and Staff Movement Challenge, a virtual 2,342-mile journey. The challenge runs Sept. 26 to Oct. 3.
Homecoming also offers several ways to give back. The annual Homecoming Blood Drive runs Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 at the Nebraska Union and Nebraska East Union. Faculty and staff also can support the Husker Pantry by donating food and essential items.
The Homecoming parade and Cornstock Festival are Oct. 2. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at 14th and R streets and ends at Memorial Stadium. Cornstock begins at 5:30 p.m. on the stadium’s east plaza, with food, activities, music and a drone show.
Homecoming concludes Oct. 3 when Nebraska hosts Maryland at Memorial Stadium. Homecoming royalty will be crowned at halftime.
