Country artists Drake White and The Big Fire, and Eric Paslay will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 27 on the East Campus Mall for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s free Homecoming concert.
Immediately reaching No. 1 on the iTunes Top Country Albums chart upon release, White’s debut album, “Spark,” has earned much praise. His latest single, “Makin’ Me Look Good Again,” hit the top spot on SiriusXM’s The Highway. White was also voted a Grammy Artist of Tomorrow earlier this year. He and his band have toured with Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, the Zac Brown Band, Eric Church and Toby Keith. He recently embarked on his first headlining tour, which continues this fall.
Paslay is a hit songwriter and dynamic performer. He has written five No. 1 hits: “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” (Eli Young Band), “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” (Jake Owen), “Angel Eyes” (Love and Theft), “Rewind” (Rascal Flatts) and “Friday Night,” the lead single from his critically acclaimed self-titled debut album. A Temple, Texas, native, Paslay has earned numerous songwriter award nominations. He also received a Grammy nomination as an artist in 2016 for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “The Driver” — a collaboration with friends Charles Kelley and Bentley.
