Seniors Gage Hoegermeyer of Herman and Monica Rogers of Omaha were crowned king and queen at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's homecoming celebration. Hoegermeyer and Rogers, elected in an online vote of the student body on Sept. 27, were crowned on the field at Memorial Stadium during halftime of the Sept. 29 Nebraska-Purdue football game.
Hoegermeyer is an integrated science major with a minor in agronomy. He is involved with Mortar Board, the Nebraska Human Resources Institute, Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity, the Collegiate Farm Bureau, College Republicans, The Big Event and UNL BBQ Club. He is also a College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources ambassador and advisory board member. He is the son of Greg and Patti Hoegermeyer.
Rogers is an elementary and early childhood education major with a minor in child, youth and family studies. She is president of the Panhellenic Association at Nebraska, a member of the Innocents Society and Alpha Phi sorority, and a Franco’s List honoree. She is the daughter of Scott and Diana Rogers.
