University of Nebraska–Lincoln employees can get moving this summer with Stridin’ in the Sunshine, HealthierU’s three-week virtual movement challenge designed to encourage activity, teamwork and healthy habits.
The challenge runs July 20 to Aug. 9 and gives participants the opportunity to log movement minutes, encourage teammates and enjoy the benefits of staying active during the sunniest weeks of the year.
Participants can compete as part of a team or individually, with teams earning bragging rights based on their average movement minutes per member. By focusing on average minutes rather than total minutes, every participant plays an important role, regardless of fitness level or schedule.
Movement can take many forms. Whether walking through a neighborhood, biking on a local trail, strength training, practicing yoga, gardening, swimming, dancing in the living room or tackling yard work, every minute counts.
Participants can join the challenge anytime. Employees interested in participating can join individually or form a team with coworkers and start tracking their movement throughout the challenge.
