The Giving Tuesday donation drive can directly benefit students and programs at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Giving Tuesday, which is Dec. 3 and follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is a national day of philanthropy designed to generate collective giving during the holiday season. All giving toward campus programs is being organized by the University of Nebraska Foundation.
Programs that could benefit from the campaign include:
Husker Pantry, a one-stop location in the University Health Center that assists students with free food and hygiene items. Details about community resources for housing and other food assistance programs are also available.
First-Generation Nebraska, an initiative that establishes a network between Huskers who are the first in their family to attend college with faculty and staff who share a similar academic experience. Research shows that first-generation college students are more likely to graduate if they have a support system.
