Hannelore Neutzner Rogers will discuss the two-decades-long journey of creating the Neutzner Family Memoir during the next Genealogy Over Lunch at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 17, via Zoom. Registration is required.
Neutzer's storytelling effort — which spanned the pre-and post-World War II period — relied on resources that ranged from her sister’s recollection of events, and century-old family documents to correspondence with governmental archives in the Czech Republic and Germany.
The memoir has been added to the Czech Heritage Collections held in the Archives & Special Collections at University Libraries. The Czech Heritage Collections consist of the manuscript collections, books, journals, periodicals, and other materials on Czech and Czech American history, literature, politics, and culture. Hannelore Rogers’s donation of significant post war documents related to the Neutzner family both in Europe and in the United States will complement the existing collections and provide primary materials that help researchers and others to tell stories related to military history and World War II.
Genealogy over Lunch is a University Libraries’ group designed to help individuals explore and organize family history. All students, faculty, emeriti and staff are welcome.
