The B-52s will kick off the Lied Center for Performing Arts’ 2017-18 season with a performance at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30.
The new wave band – comprised of Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider, Keith Strickland and Cindy Wilson – has been around for about 40 years and has sold more than 20 million albums. The group’s hit songs include “Love Shack,” “Rock Lobster” and “Roam.” After a long hiatus from the studio, the band re-emerged with the 2008 album “Funplex,” which debuted at No. 11 on the U.S. Billboard charts. The band has toured extensively over the past decade.
