The Nebraska Alumni Association’s Football Friday series enters its 12th season starting Sept. 3, the night before the Huskers’ home opener against Fordham. This year’s series is sponsored by AKRS Equipment Solutions.
Football Friday is the official on-campus event to kick off fans’ game-day weekends, welcoming fans of all ages to the Wick Alumni Center, 1520 R St.
The family-friendly programs, 5 to 7 p.m., feature former Husker players, coaches and media members, along with appearances by the Husker Spirit Squad, Big Red Express pep band, Herbie Husker and Lil’ Red.
Admission is free, with food and drinks available for purchase. Alumni association members who attend will receive special giveaways.
The 2021 Football Fridays are:
Sept. 3: Appearances by former Huskers Steve Taylor and Jay Foreman; Mike Schaefer of 247Sports and Nebraska247; and Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald. Chancellor Ronnie Green also will join.
Oct. 8 (Michigan): Special guests will be announced.
The guest lineups are subject to change.
The alumni association will also hold Football Friday on the road before the Huskers’ games at Oklahoma and Minnesota. For more information, click here.
