Sustainability on Wheels is partnering with HealthierU to offer a series of summer coffee rides for all University of Nebraska–Lincoln employees.

Each ride includes a complimentary coffee voucher and a guided, leisurely trip to The Mill Coffee and Bistro at Nebraska Innovation Campus. Riders will gather at the Outdoor Adventures Center at 6:50 a.m. and return by 8 a.m. It’s a way to start the day with light movement and good company. Summer ride dates are May 27, June 16 and July 30.

These rides are designed to be approachable and low-pressure, making them perfect for riders of all experience levels! The pace will be relaxed and suitable for participants in office attire, but shower facilities are available at no cost at the Outdoor Adventures Center.

All equipment will be provided for the rides, including a bike and a helmet. Participants are welcome to keep their new helmet after the ride to encourage them to keep riding safely. Spots are limited to 10 participants per ride, so early registration is encouraged. Employees can register by visiting the HealthierU events webpage.

Funded through the We Give Blood Drive competition from Abbott and the Big Ten, Sustainability on Wheels is designed to promote overall community health by reducing barriers to biking within the UNL community. A collaboration between the Office of Sustainability, Outdoor Adventures and BikeLNK, Sustainability on Wheels provides accessible, supportive opportunities for employees to experience biking as a convenient and enjoyable mode of transportation.
