The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is urging all Huskers — regardless of vaccination status — to complete a COVID-19 test before traveling at the end the fall semester and during the upcoming winter shutdown (Dec. 22 to Jan. 2).
A pre-travel test can help limit spread in instances where students, faculty and staff may be infected but are not showing symptoms of the virus. Test results also offer peace of mind for individuals traveling to spend time with friends, family and loved ones.
The university continues to offer free, saliva-based testing to all students, faculty and staff. Tests can be scheduled through the Safer Community app or the university’s online portal. Appointments can be made up to a maximum of six days in advance. Testing results are usually reported within 24 hours.
The last opportunity to get a free test on campus is 8 to 11 a.m. Dec. 21 outside the Nebraska Unions. Samples collected on Dec. 21 will be processed and results delivered that day.
Testing availability on Dec. 15 has been adjusted due to inclement weather. Updated hours are 6 to 10 a.m. at the East Memorial Stadium drive through/walk-up clinic; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the sites outside the Nebraska and Nebraska East unions.
A complete overview of testing locations and hours is available here.
