The Counseling and School Psychology Clinic offers low-cost, sliding scale mental health counseling and ADHD assessment services for children, adolescents and adults. Student therapists provide therapy to individuals under the supervision of advanced students and a licensed psychologist.
The clinic addresses a wide array of concerns, including academic issues, inattention, depression, anxiety, social skills, life transitions and learning difficulties. Specific services for children and adolescents also include offering parenting supports for managing misbehavior, increasing positive interactions with their children and supporting children with presenting concerns. The clinic is also able to collaborate with schools, doctors and other service providers at the family’s request. The clinic offers counseling that is sensitive to race, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and religion.
The clinic has immediate openings for children and adolescents ages 3-18, and adults 18-plus affiliated with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the public. All students, staff and faculty members and their children receive a special flat rate for sessions offered at the center. The center has also collaborated with the Swanson Foundation to offer free in-person and telehealth services for those living in rural communities throughout Nebraska.
