Preparations for the Aug. 22 Boys from Oklahoma concert at Memorial Stadium will require temporary parking and roadway adjustments in the stadium area Aug. 13-25.
Parking and Transit Services, Husker Athletics and campus partners have coordinated to maintain access to campus facilities while supporting concert operations and ongoing stadium construction. Students, faculty and staff who park, work or travel near Memorial Stadium should be aware of temporary changes.
Important dates
The following event activities will impact parking and traffic near Memorial Stadium:
- Load-In Activities: Aug. 13-21
- Concert: Aug. 22
- Load-Out Activities: Aug. 23-25
Some impacts may continue throughout the full period because of concurrent construction occurring near the stadium.
Champions Club lot
Beginning Aug. 16, a portion of the north section of the Champions Club lot will be closed to accommodate event operations. The closure will reduce available parking by approximately 97 spaces through Aug. 23.
Student Area C permit holders are encouraged to use the Area C surface lot west of the 14th and Avery Parking Garage during this time.
The area is expected to reopen by the morning of Aug. 24.
Roadway changes near Memorial Stadium
To support concert preparation and teardown activities, Stadium Drive and U Street west of Memorial Stadium will be closed to through traffic Aug. 13-25.
Drivers should anticipate detours and use alternate routes whenever possible.
Access to Area A parking west of the Stadium Drive Parking Garage will remain available during the closure period. Vehicles should enter through the Nebraska Champions Club northeast entrance.
Plan ahead
Campus members are encouraged to:
- Review alternate parking options before arriving on campus.
- Allow additional travel time when visiting the stadium area.
- Follow all temporary signage, barricades and traffic control measures.
- Watch for additional updates as event preparations progress.
Parking and Transit Services will continue to work with campus partners to reduce disruptions and maintain access throughout the event period.
