The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s plan to hold May 2021 undergraduate commencement ceremonies in person at Memorial Stadium is coming into focus.
As outlined previously and in a March 22 email to students who have applied for graduation, commencement exercises will be May 7 for the College of Law and graduate college (doctoral and master’s degrees) and May 8 for undergraduates. The undergraduate ceremony will be divided by colleges into two sessions.
Further details — including commencement ceremony times and locations, cap and gown ordering, ticketing, and COVID-19 safety precautions — are available here.
Graduating students will receive a notification from the University Registrar on March 29 to complete the commencement and diploma form in MyRED. Once logged in, students will need to complete a to-do list, which includes the commencement attendance form. Registration for commencement closes April 9.
The university has also partnered with MarchingOrder to offer students a chance to create a personalized digital graduation slide. While not a part of the commencement ceremonies, the slides are a chance for students to share their accomplishment with family and friends. Information on how to create the slide are available in the March 22 email. The deadline to complete a slide is April 14.
A complete overview about the university’s return to in-person graduation is available on the commencement website. All future updates will be announced and featured on the website.
