Amy Pistone, a visiting classics scholar and college referee, will deliver a lecture at 6:30 p.m. April 3 at Indigo Bridge Books and Cafe, 701 P St. The talk, “From Gladiators to the Gridiron: Sports through the Ages,” is free and open to the public.
Pistone is a visiting assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame. Her research interest is Greek tragedy, women in the ancient world, and feminist theory. She also has a personal passion for sports and serves as a referee for both NCAA football and basketball.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.
