Chancellor's Diversity Commissions offer 'Creating Identity' discussion

The Chancellor’s Diversity Commissions will host a panel discussion on what it means to create an individual identity through a lens of intersectionality.

The “Creating Identity” discussion is 4 p.m. Dec. 2 and available through Zoom. Registration, available here, is required.

The panel features a diverse group of perspectives across the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. It will include: Emily Cheramie, student-athlete and English major; Derrick Gulley, program coordinator for the LGBTQA+ and Women’s Center; Gary Kebbel, professor of journalism and mass communication; and Timothy Schaffert, associate professor of English. The discussion will be moderated by Pat Tetreault, director of the LGBTQA+ and Women’s Center.

The Chancellor’s Diversity Commissions include the Status of People of Color, Status of Women, and State of Gender and Sexual Identity. Details about each are available here.
