The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is shifting into celebration mode as thousands of Huskers return to campus ahead of the Aug. 26 start of the fall semester.
Big Red Welcome festivities, which begin Aug. 19 and continue into the first weeks of the new semester, aim to foster school spirit, ease the transition back to academic life, and provide students opportunities to venture out and find their community.
Signature events include college-specific welcomes on Aug. 22; Tunnel Walk, New Student Welcome and Chancellor’s BBQ on Aug. 23; Boneyard Bash and Well-being Fest on Aug. 24; and the Big Red Welcome Street Festival on Aug. 25.
Huskers can access a full list of events by downloading the Nebraska app or visiting the Big Red Welcome webpage.
Students will also be moving into campus residence halls between Aug. 18-22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Students and family members check in at the north entrance of the Devaney Sports Center during a scheduled time before moving in.

- The south-bound, right-most lane on Antelope Valley Parkway between 17th/X streets and Vine Street will be designated as a turning lane for move-in; and
- 16th and 17th streets are designated routes for move-in and increased traffic is expected.
