The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the University of Nebraska—Lincoln's CASNR Change Maker scholarship competition opens Dec. 1 and applications will be accepted through Feb. 1.
The competition is an opportunity for students in grades six to 11, incoming college freshmen or transfer students for 2025-26 and returning CASNR students for 2025-26 to receive a $1,000 (high school students) or $5,000 (college students) scholarship for a quick-pitch two-minute video showcasing their idea to create positive change in the world.
The video submission should address one or more of these grand challenges: feeding the world; water for the future; new energy; climate and the future; biodiversity, sustainability and environmental; health; engaging diverse communities; and developing tomorrow’s leaders. The judging panel will also consider creativity in the content selection and presentation, effectiveness in highlighting how your idea will lead to a more sustainable, healthy, secure and/or joyous world, and the overall quality of the presentation in their scoring considerations. Visit the CASNR website for more information and submission rules.
CASNR Change Makers have gone on to create small businesses, take part in cutting-edge research, impact their communities in meaningful ways, and make connections that will last.
