The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Campus Red Cross Club is hosting a winter blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Nebraska Union’s Centennial Room. Faculty, staff, students and alumni can participate.
Due to increased cases of COVID-19, natural disasters and winter weather, donations have dipped to their lowest point in 10 years. Typically, the Red Cross has a five-day blood supply, and it has dipped down to a one-day supply.

Those 17 years of age (16 with written parental consent), who weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
The university’s COVID-19 protocols will be in place, including masks and checking the Safer Community App or a quick health screen for general public donors.
