UNL Campus Rec Center will host the “#ActiveHusker Combine” from 3–6 p.m. Feb. 19 in Cook Pavilion. The “#ActiveHusker Combine” is a new event mirroring the annual NFL Combine that tests college football players abilities to perform physically and mentally in front of NFL coaches and scouts.
Participation is free to all UNL students and Campus Rec members. The general public must pay a $10 facility fee to compete.
The “#ActiveHusker Combine” is held on the third day of this year’s week-long NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Events include the short shuttle, vertical jump, standing broad jump, bench press, 3-cone drill and 40-yard dash. Participants do not need to sign up in advance or compete in each event; however, competitors must complete all six events to be considered for overall champion. Competitors may begin any time after 3 p.m. but must complete their chosen events by 6 p.m.
An Adidas “#ActiveHusker Combine” shirt will be awarded to the top female and male competitors in each event, with an Adidas “#ActiveHusker Combine” champion shirt going to the overall female and male champions. Clif energy bars will be provided for all competitors, with music provided by Phipp Phippa.
