Emily Levine, special projects research horticulturist, leads the annual tours through campus gardens. The 2018 series continues through November.

The monthly series exploring greenspaces on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s East Campus continues Aug. 7 with a walkthrough of Earl G. Maxwell Arboretum.

The informal tours, which are noon to 1 p.m., offer participants an opportunity to observe changes of woody and herbaceous plants through the entire growing season. Each tour is led by Emily Levine, special projects research horticulturist and former grounds supervisor for the arboretum. Each tour is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, tours will be held the following Tuesday.

The August tour will begin at the Perin Porch, which is south of the Agricultural Communications Building.

Other scheduled tour dates Sept. 4, Oct. 2 and Nov. 6. For more information, including a map of tour areas, parking information and details and where each tour starts, go the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Gardens website, Facebook page or send email to Levine at elevine2@unl.edu.
