New University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty are featured in the 2017-18 New Faculty Brochure.
The new faculty members embody the university’s transformative goals and were selected for their ability to teach and inspire today’s students, focus scholarship on issues of global significance and engage with Nebraskans on the state’s most pressing needs.
The Executive Vice Chancellor’s Office has revamped its new faculty orientation program, which began with a longer, more comprehensive orientation the week before classes began. Donde Plowman, executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer, hosted a celebratory dinner that evening for new faculty and their partners. As the semester progresses, new faculty will have the opportunity to attend specialized forums focusing on topics such as research, teaching and global engagement. Additional programming and targeted workshops for all faculty will be rolled out over the course of the year. For more information, contact Judy Walker, associate vice chancellor for faculty and academic affairs, at judy.walker@unl.edu.
The New Faculty Brochure is available online. Past editions of the brochure — including the 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013 editions — are available via the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor.
