“A Bread Factory,” a film following the effects of gentrification on a small town, opens March 8 at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.
Dorothea and Greta are the longtime owners of a small theater, The Bread Factory, in the small town of Checkford. The theater’s operations are suddenly threatened when a celebrity couple opens a large venue across the street.
As they fight to keep their business open, strange characters move to town, and Dorothea and Greta adjust to the new normal of their city.
“A Bread Factory” plays through March 14.
Continuing through March 14 is the Oscar-winning “Never Look Away,” a love story spanning three eras of German history.
