Biological systems engineering colloquium continues with Franti

Franti

The Biological Systems Engineering colloquium series will continue with Nebraska’s Tom Franti, associate professor and surface water management specialist, at noon Nov. 11 via Zoom.

Since 1993, Franti has conducted research and extension education programs related to protecting surface water quality. Franti will discuss how his current and past research has focused on water quality issues that ran parallel with his Nebraska Extension efforts. Evaluating and promoting best management practices, and aiming at adoption by producers, is the goal of the Land Grant ideal when applied to managing surface water quality. Such projects as the Nebraska Buffer Strip Program and the NRCS Conservation Security Program were drivers for extension efforts. Discussion of a series of research projects will be presented.
