Big Arabic Day events are designed to educate others to have a diverse outlook and accepting nature.

Arabic studies will celebrate Big Arabic Day with a series of April 12 of workshops.

The event begins with a free Arabic music and singing workshop from 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. in Avery Hall, Room 112.

Other sessions include an Arabic calligraphy workshop led by Ishaq Altouqi from 3:30 to 4:20 p.m. in Oldfather Hall Room 203; and a viewing of “The Other in Me” with a panel discussion highlighting a UCARE project exploring stories of immigrant success in Nebraska at 5:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Regency Suite. The viewing and discussion includes a drawing for more than 20 authentic Arabic gifts. The panel will be moderated by Adam Thompson, assistant director of the Kutak Center for Teaching and the Study of Applied Ethics.
