The University of Nebraska Foundation is holding a group fundraiser as part of the Aug. 31 Lincoln Saltdogs game with the Sioux City Explorers.

For every $11 lower reserved ticket sold for the game, the Saltdogs will make a $3 donation to the Nebraska Legends Scholarship and Recruitment Fund. The fund supports UNL efforts to recruit and retain top students.

Nebraska Legends scholars participate in a program designed to help them find academic success, make friends and become engaged in campus life. The students attend exclusive events, meet regularly with the program coordinator, and receive a complimentary one-year membership in Scarlet Guard, UNL’s Student Alumni Association.

All Nebraska Legends activities provide students with access to campus resources, allow for networking and promote campus involvement. The program is also designed to help UNL reach its 2017, six-year undergraduate graduation goal of 70 percent.

The scholars program is organized by UNL, the Nebraska Alumni Association and NU Foundation.

The Aug. 31 game at Haymarket Park begins at 7:05 p.m. Game promotions include baseball bingo and a fireworks show.
