The 2019 Global Nebraska Annual Report is available on the Global Nebraska website, developed and distributed by the Office of Global Strategies.

Nebraska’s Office of Global Strategies has released its first-ever annual report, highlighting university’s international impact over the course of 2019.

The annual report highlights the work of Global Nebraska units — including the Office of Global Strategies, Education Abroad Office, International Student and Scholar Office and Programs in English as Second Language — as well as other faculty, staff and academic units engaged in international education and activity.

“We recognize COVID-19 has changed higher education and some of our work will look different,” said Josh Davis, associate vice chancellor for global affairs. “This report shows not only that Nebraska has a rich history of global engagement and education, but that we have many opportunities to continue this important work that is closely tied to the N2025 Strategic Plan.”

Highlights from the report include:

  • New programming initiatives from the International Student and Scholar Office that connect international and domestic students
  • Nebraska’s recognition as a Greatest Growth Institution for the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for study abroad
  • The university’s partnership with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and engaging alumni overseas
  • The continued and expanded engagement of Nebraska with its partnerships and student programs in Africa
  • The impact of customized English language and culture programs offered by Programs in English as a Second Language

The report also contains key statistics from the 2018-19 academic year, such as recognizing the more than 3,000 international students and scholars who call Nebraska home, the over $1.2 million in scholarships for education abroad students earned and the more than 400 faculty who conduct research around the world.

The report is available to download in PDF format on the Global Nebraska website.
