Amber Charlotte Ward of Bellevue, Nebraska, a member of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Reserve Officer Training Corps, received her military commission during a ceremony Aug. 15 at the Nebraska State Capitol. She was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

Ward also received a Bachelor of Arts in global studies from the College of Arts and Sciences during the university’s combined graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremony Aug. 15 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
