The Nebraska Alumni Association has announced that more than 700 high-quality, cloth face masks have been donated to Nebraska children and families in need through the Scarlet and Cream Mask Donation program.
Alumni and friends can continue to make an impact through this program through the new year. For each reusable, uniquely designed face mask purchased, the Nebraska Alumni Association will donate one to the Health Center Association of Nebraska to distribute to one of Nebraska’s 65 community health centers across the state. These clinics provide essential health services to children and families in need.
“We’re truly proud that our alumni and friends have made such a commitment to Nebraska’s safety with Scarlet and Cream face masks,” Nebraska Alumni Association Executive Director Shelley Zaborowski said. “One of our best traditions is Huskers being good neighbors and looking out for one another. This outpouring of support shows once again there is no place like Nebraska.”
The face masks feature two unique scarlet and cream patterns only available from the Nebraska Alumni Association. They have adjustable ear straps and a metal strip across the bridge of the nose that allows for a snug fit. Support from Nebraska partners Runza and Firespring allowed a pre-order of 200 masks to be supplied to Nebraska community health centers.
This donation program is operated as part of a nationwide partnership of university alumni associations, organized and hosted by the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. Masks will be purchased from a webpage hosted by the Minnesota Alumni Market. Proceeds from the purchases will support the Nebraska Alumni Association’s alumni engagement programming and initiatives.
