Institutional Equity and Compliance is offering campus supervisors an opportunity to learn about the Americans with Disabilities Act and other laws/policies related to creating an accessible work environment for current employees and job applicants. The next session is Sept. 27.
The free professional development workshop will be led by Deb Huryta, ADA and Section 504 compliance officer, and Deanna Schuldeis, Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action specialist. They will present information and answer questions about laws, definitions, accessibility in hiring, accessibility for current employees, how to manage changing conditions, and how-to information about current procedures and policies.
The training, which takes about 90 minutes is available through Zoom. Registration is required.
Six sessions are being offered during the current academic year — 10 a.m. Sept. 27; 2:30 p.m. Oct. 26; 9 a.m. Nov. 17; 9:30 a.m. Feb. 17; 1:30 p.m. March 23; and 10 a.m. April 21.
All individual who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion.
