34 positive COVID-19 cases tracked on campus

Weekly testing update (Nov. 19-25)

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln reported 34 positive cases of COVID-19 during a shortened week of testing (due to Thanksgiving), Nov. 19-25).

In that same span, 700 tests were completed on students, faculty and staff. The positivity rate during the week was 4.9%. Testing during the week was shortened due to the university shutting down for the Thanksgiving holiday on Nov. 24-27.

Tests are conducted through the university’s saliva-based reentry testing program, the University Health Center and off-campus medical facilities.

Since the university started COVID-19 testing on Aug. 15, 2020, 4,598 positive cases have been recorded out of 253,796 tests, for a positivity rate of 1.8%.

This report is generated weekly and will be presented in Nebraska Today every Monday through the fall semester. Data is gathered from the university’s COVID-19 dashboard, which is tracking case and test totals daily. All COVID-19 testing information is provided to the university from the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.
