The French drama “Young & Beautiful” and the documentary “Citizen Koch” open July 11 at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. Both films are unrated and play through July 17. “A Hard Day’s Night” will be held over for a second week.

Acclaimed director François Ozon presents a mesmerizing tale of sexual awakening in “Young & Beautiful.” After losing her virginity, the beautiful 17-year-old Isabelle takes up a secret life as a call girl, meeting her older gentlemen clients for erotic hotel room trysts. She remains curiously aloof throughout the drama, showing little interest in the encounters or the money, while Ozon refrains from offering easy answers. As the enigmatic Isabelle, Marine Vacth is magnetic, delivering a star-making breakout performance in this sexy coming-of-age drama.

“Citizen Koch” investigates the impact of unlimited, anonymous spending by corporations and billionaires on the electoral process, featuring stories of life-long Republicans whose loyalty is tested when their families become collateral damage in the GOP fight to take out organized labor. In this searing exposé on the state of democracy in America, and the fracturing of the Republican Party, Academy Award-nominated directors Carl Deal and Tia Lessin follow the money behind the rise of the Tea Party.

“A Hard Day’s Night” is a rock-and-roll classic that features the Beatles playing slapstick versions of themselves. Filmed a month after John, Paul, George and Ringo exploded onto the U.S. music scene with a 1964 Ed Sullivan Show appearance, “A Hard Day’s Night” includes a slew of iconic pop anthems and is a precursor to the modern music video. The film has been restored with a new soundtrack remixed and remastered by record producer Giles Martin at Abbey Road Studios.
