Women’s rugby advances to national tournament

Huskers host Colorado College in first ever tourney game
The UNL women's rugby team faces Colorado College in the first round of the USA Rugby National Tournament in a game at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Vine Street Fields. Admission is free.

For the first time in club history, the UNL Women’s Rugby team has advanced to the USA Rugby National Tournament (round of 32). The Huskers host the Colorado College Tigers at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Vine Street Fields (17th and Vine streets). The winner advances to the Sweet 16 playoff. Admission is free and open to the public.

The team secured a place in the tournament by winning 10–5 against the University of Arkansas in the Mid-America Conference Championship, held Nov. 2 in Kansas City, Mo.

The women’s rugby team is a UNL sport club recognized student organization. The team receives administrative support from Campus Recreation.
